Out of date operating systems and software can absolutely put Northland business at risk.

Having out of date operating systems and software can absolutely put Kerikeri businesses at risk. As we mentioned previously Virus’s, malware and ransomware attacks are all on a massive rise – we see them every week here in Northland. One big one, literally last week in Kerikeri. This has increased phenomenally in the last two years here in Northland.

What should I be worried about?

So, first things first – what is old, what is new, and what should I move to?

For Operating Systems

Be worried and book an appointment ASAP if you have…

For PC: Vista, XP, Windows 2000, Windows 7 (from Jan 14th , 2020) and from 2022 Windows 8

For Apple: Sierra, El’Capitan, Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion

Ideally, you want:

For PC: Windows 10 – there will never be another upgrade, Windows 10 will be updated remotely.

For Mac: High Sierra, Mojave and the just released Catalina.

For Office Software

worried and book an appointment ASAP if you have…

For PC: Microsoft Office 2010 (oct 13 2020) / 2007 /2003 (already unsupported) Office 2013, 2016, 2019 will all end in 2023.

For Apple: 2011 is unsupported along with anything before then, 2016 is ok but we still recommend Office 365 over 2016

Ideally, you want:

For PC/Mac: Microsoft Office 365 & Teams– which is a subscription model it automatically updates ****
